On Thursday evening, Instagram experienced a significant outage across the United States, affecting tens of thousands of users. According to Downdetector.com, a website that tracks outages by aggregating status reports from multiple sources, reports of the outage peaked at over 31,000 incidents.
The issue was largely resolved within a few hours. By 8:34 p.m. Eastern Time, the number of reported incidents had dropped to 429, indicating that the problem had been addressed for most users.
As of now, Instagram’s services have been fully restored, and the platform is operating normally. Meta, Instagram’s parent company, has not yet provided an official statement regarding the cause of the outage.
