Tencent has officially launched its T1 reasoning model, enhancing its position in China’s competitive artificial intelligence sector. The T1 model offers faster response times and improved capabilities for processing extended text documents, maintaining clear content logic with an extremely low hallucination rate.
This development follows Tencent’s introduction of the Turbo S foundational language model last month, which the company claims processes queries faster than DeepSeek’s R1 model.
The launch of T1 comes amid heightened rivalry in China’s AI landscape, particularly following DeepSeek’s introduction of models that offer comparable or superior performance to Western systems at substantially lower costs.
Tencent had previously released a preview version of T1 through platforms, including its AI assistant application Yuanbao.
The official release of T1 signifies Tencent’s commitment to advancing AI technology and competing with other major players in the field.
